We also think it is important for our buyers to know that since we keep a small herd, lots of attention is given to our goats and kids. We are able to spend many hours a week handling kids which makes them very friendly. We also milk our goats daily for 8-10 months and keep unofficial milk production records.
In 2016, 2020 & 2021 we participated in ADGA’s DHIR program and several does earned milk star awards. This is important if you are intending to purchase a doe for milking. Milk records give buyers confidence that the kids they are buying come from milking lines.

Wethers out of first fresheners are $200 each. Buck kids that are offered for sale can be wethered for half of the sale price if they have not sold by 8 weeks old. 

Health Care
Goat kids are dam raised and kept on the farm for 8-10 weeks. Please keep in mind if the kidding date is the beginning of April, the kids will not be ready to leave our farm until the beginning of June. They are naturally wormed and wethers are banded around 7 weeks old. Registered goat kids are tattooed
before leaving our property. We follow natural health care practices as much as possible and use drug intervention if necessary. We do not routinely vaccinate our goats but will give the first dose of the CD&T vaccination to kids upon request. All breeding bucks are tested for CAE and Johne’s every year in the fall and results have always been negative. Our adult does tested negative for CAE & Johne’s in 2022. We do not routinely test for CL but when we have tests have always been negative. Testing paperwork is available upon request.

We are committed to placing our goats in good homes and educating new goat owners on the basics of goat care such as housing, feeding, treating health issues and hoof trimming. We also provide support for additional needs such as breeding, kidding and milking via email and/or workshops hosted at our farm.

Reservations/Deposits
We no longer take deposits before kids are born. We offer kids for sale as they are available in the spring. Please join our goat email list at the bottom of this page. This list will be notified first when kids are for sale. Kids will be listed on our goat sales web page if they have not sold from our email list. Once a kid is offered to a buyer for sale, 1/2 of the sale price is required to hold a kid. The balance will be due when the kid is picked up. Our preference is to sell kids in pairs from our farm. After many years of experience, kids transition better when they go to a new home in pairs from the same farm. Sometimes we sell a mother with kid which works well also. We only sell single kids to farms that already have goats.

Arrangements can be made for boarding goat kids if they are not able to be picked up at the offered pick up date. We are happy to work with buyers to help facilitate goat transport, but buyers are responsible for all transportation costs.
